Michigan Man Arrested On Drug Charge At Police Station

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – A 51-year-old Clinton Township man is in jail after police say they found a packet of cocaine mixed in with cash he used to pay a friend’s bond.

Lt. Curt Randall tells reporters the man went to the police station on Saturday to bail his friend out of lockup. He says the packet of cocaine was mixed in with cash he pulled out of his pocket and gave to the desk officer.

Randall says the man claimed he didn’t know how the drugs got into his pocket.

He says officers accepted the bail money and released the man’s friend. Randall says the man was arrested on possession of cocaine.

He’s expected to be formally charged in court Monday.
