FLINT, MI (WLNS) – Governor Rick Snyder is giving Flint some help to fix its troubled water system. A $900,000 grant will allow the city to hire a contractor to check for any leaks in water lines.

Another $1.1 million will replace the current pollution control facility.

Flint gets its water from the Flint River.

The city says it is safe to drink but the federal government has cited Flint for high levels of disinfectant by-product.
