Lansing Mayor Ends Snow Emergency

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Now a few days after a weekend snowstorm left Lansing ‘s streets covered, Mayor Virg Bernero is canceling the snow emergency.

Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero declared a snow emergency to help plows get through streets easier.

The snow emergency prohibited parking on un-plowed streets. Even though residents can park on streets again, there are still parking rules for Lansing. Those rules say no one can park on the street between 2 – 5 a.m.

Any cars or other vehicles left on city streets since the snow storm are subject to ticketing and could be towed at the owner’s expense. That’s part of Lansing’s abandoned vehicle ordinance.
