Lansing Community College Hosts Health Fair For Black History Month

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – February is Black History Month. Lansing Community College is holding a series of events to commemorate it.

On Wednesday campus officials hosted a special health fair.

The event featured on-site services such as health testing, fitness tests, blood pressure checks and testing for sickle cell traits.

Organizers say that good health starts with the right attitude.

“It starts with the mind. Once you have the mind set you can do anything you want to do. You can be what you want to be. So we are trying to encourage the community, the Lansing community here at Black History Month and you know it’s fun. A lot of people coming up, kids here in the school, and stopping by the table. It’s great to see all the people trying to support health, living a healthy life,” said T.J. Tyus, Strength 2 Be.
