LANSING, MI (WLNS) – An anonymous tip led Lansing Police to a three hour stand off
Police say a man with warrants out for his arrest locked himself in a house.
It happened on the 700 block of Jessop Ave. at around 1 in the afternoon.
Lansing police received information from an anonymous caller saying the suspect in this case was hiding out inside a home and would not come out.
Sgt. Del Kostanko from the Lansing Police was on the scene and explained how it all went down.
“Officers obtained information that the subject had a violent criminal past and may be armed so they went ahead and surrounded the house,” Sgt. Kostanko said. “Officers were able to negotiate him out of the residence with a successful conclusion.”
According to police, the man had some self-inflicted wounds following the incident.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of those minor injuries and is now in police custody.
