Retired Firefighter Among Heroes In Fire Rescue Effort

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – A Lansing man may have prevented any more deaths Sunday night after a fire broke out at Friendship Manor, an apartment complex near the Frandor Shopping Center.

David Hall is a former Delta Township firefighter.

He was with his wife and mother in law when he realized something was wrong at Friendship Manor.

Hall sprang into action, heading to the 5th and 6th floors to help people get out.

He paired those able to walk down the stairs with the disabled so everyone could escape.

After people were safe, Hall stayed to help the fire department take care of people struggling to breathe. He says it was just his instinct to help.

“I miss the job of being a firefighter, and to do my job, take care of those people and knowing I did something great,” said David Hall, retired firefighter.

Hall does not call himself a hero, but it’s safe to say he helped a lot of people that night.
