LANSING, MI (WLNS) – A local non-profit is working to connect community members with disabilities to jobs they can do to support themselves.
They are even willing to train them for those positions. It is all a part of a technical job fair happening this afternoon in Lansing.
Peckham Inc. is a non-profit organization that works to help persons with disabilities towards a self-sufficient life. Today they are looking for a few good men and women to fill more than a few job openings.
There is full and part time positions open; both have a starting wage of $18 per hour. This is a technical job fair looking for people with help desk or contact center experience and a number of other types of technical certifications. Even if you do not have any technical experience they are willing to train you for free.
This event is open to the public. The job fair goes from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Peckham main office building on Capital City Boulevard.
