ROSEVILLE, MI (WLNS) – Roseville police say they found a dead baby boy inside of a recycling bin Wednesday night.
The newborn was found around 11 p.m., wearing only a t-shirt. Police say the boy was completely frozen, with his umbilical cord still attached.
Police believe the baby is 1-3 days old. The boy is now at the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office, where he will undergo a DNA test.
The recycling company does take recycling from all over the state, so it is possible that the baby found belongs to an Okemos mother, who claims she cannot remember where her newborn boy is.
Melissa Mitin, the Okemos mother is already facing a murder charge in her newborn daughter’s death from back in 2013.
Police are still investigating at this time. 6 News will provide updates as soon as they are available.
