The news tower, on Baseline Road is owned by WLAJ-TV, the ABC affiliate operating out of WLNS-TV in Lansing. The tower is surrounded by a gate, which police say the man, around 30-years-old made it past.

Michigan State Police alerted a WLAJ employee of the incident. Police say around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday the man jumped from the 1,000 foot tower with a parachute. Officials say the parachute failed to deploy.
