Home Brewing Event In Michigan Features Cookies In Beer

GENOA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A home brewing competition in Michigan will feature cookies in the beer.

Reportedly vanilla wafers will be included in beer to be served up during the Feb. 4 event at Eternity Brewing Co. in Livingston County’s Genoa Township.

Eternity owner Dayna Tran says customers nominated the ingredients they’d like to see get used. A member of Eternity’s “mug club” made the final choice.

About 10 home brewers are expected to compete. Kevin Penn, president of the Mainstreet Brewers Guild, says home brewers “are up for just about anything.” The guild is sponsoring the event, and its members will make up the contestant field.
