JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – The man who admitted to murdering his own mother to officials was in court Friday.
6 News Genna Hilgenbrink was there, where there were many unusual statements made.
It looked to be an open and shut case.
“He confessed actually gave great detail about what happened and gave us information about where the body was located,” said Sgt. Michael Church, Michigan State Police.
But things took a turn for the bizarre when Matthew King made this statement in court Friday while being arraigned.
“The past week or two recordings have been inaudible on my TV. I would like that examine on Sirius radio.” “Alright we’ll let you discuss that with your attorney.”
It was a house on the east side of Jackson where police say Matthew King got into an argument with his mother, hit her in the head with a dumbbell and killed her.
On Friday King’s charges were made official. He will be held without bond for the open murder of his mother and if convicted, he will face up to life in prison.
Police say they do not know of any psychological issues that King may have. He is due back in court later in January.
