Health Officials Urging Smokers To Quit

(WLNS) – Oncologists are concentrating on helping cancer patients quit smoking.

It’s part the Tobacco Cessation Collaborative. It’s an effort between Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Cancer Consortium.

The state recently announced 32 oncology practices and cancer centers around Michigan are working together to refer patients to the Michigan Tobacco Quit Line.

It’s free to call and you’ll get a personal health coach who will work with you to gain the confidence and motivation you need to kick the habit.
