TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) – A husband and wife in Ohio have pleaded guilty in the death of a Michigan man whose body was found in an empty grain storage barn in early December.
Robert Strauss of Toledo pleaded guilty to murder on Monday and was sentenced to life in prison. Desirae Strauss pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was given 15 years.
Both were charged in July with killing 52-year-old Brian Martin of Ypsilanti.
Martin had been missing since June up until a few weeks ago when his remains were found in northwestern Ohio’s Putnam County.
An attorney for Desirae Strauss has said the remains were found after someone provided new information to prosecutors, but he wouldn’t say whether it his client.
Messages seeking comment were left Monday with the couple’s attorneys.
