Michigan Lottery Honors Robotics Teacher

INGHAM COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – An Ingham County educator known as one of the leaders of a robotics is being honored.

This teacher is known for a program that takes students to the west pacific to search for crashed World War II planes.

Josh Nichols, a fifth-grade teacher was honored with an Excellence in Education award from the Michigan lottery.

Nichols specializes in robotics at Heritage Elementary in Stockbridge.

The Michigan lottery recently established the excellence in education awards to recognize outstanding public school educators across the state during the school year.

Winners of the weekly award receive a plaque, a $500 cash prize and a $500 grant to their classroom, school or school district.

One of the weekly winners will be selected as the educator of the year and will receive a $10,000 prize.
