Lawmakers Review Options Regarding Lake Erie Algae

(WLNS) – It has been nearly five months since toxins from algae left people living in Toledo and parts of southeastern Michigan without water for two days.

Lawmakers in Ohio are weighing their options as they tackle the algae problem in Lake Erie.

The legislature ran out of time before it could pass a bill outlining new rules for farmers and water treatment plants but several lawmakers say addressing the algae situation will be a top priority in the new year.
