Holiday Return Fraud

(WLNS) – By now most of us have opened-up our Christmas gifts and if you are planning on returning unwanted items, you are not alone.

December 26th is the busiest day of the year for returns and experts say it is a big day for retail fraud too. Analysts for the National Retail Federation estimate retailers will lose nearly $4 billion to holiday return retail fraud this year. It is estimated that about 5.5 percent of holiday returns are fraudulent.

But, if you are looking to make a return in good faith, is an online financial website. It has released this year’s list of stores with the best return policies. A number of area stores made the list including Kohls, Macy’s, Home Depot and Walmart.
