(WLNS) – The Michigan State Police is investigating a smash and grab that occurred at approximately 2 00 AM at the Secretary of State office located at 2835 Bagley in the City of Detroit.
MSP was notified by the Detroit Police Department that an ATM machine was stolen from the Secretary of State building located at 2835 Bagley at approximately 2 00 AM today.
Troopers responded to the scene and preliminary investigation revealed that a mini van drove through the front of the building and someone removed the ATM machine and fled the scene.
The minivan sustained damage to the rear and a broken rear window.
At this time it is unknown the amount of money that was in the ATM at the time of theft. Troopers are currently seeking surveillance video from the building security system and other evidence. It is unknown at this if this is a random robbery or if it is related to other Secretary of State office thefts.
