(WLNS) – There is only one week left in the lame duck session.
That means lawmakers only have a few more days to pass legislation or else it will have to be re-introduced in the next two years starting in January. That is why the Michigan Senate plans to meet today for a rare Monday session.
The top issue for Governor Rick Snyder and lawmakers is to reach a deal to fund road repairs. Currently the Senate and the House have approved separate plans to raise money for the roads. A House-Senate committee was created last week to pen up a compromise between the two plans.
If a deal is reached the committee could begin meeting as early as today.
