Jackson Church Holds Silent Protest Against Brown, Garner Violence

JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – Members of a Jackson church dressed in black, stood in silence and prayed for peace.

It was part of a silent protest at the Lane Memorial Christian Methodist Church Sunday night focused on the violence involved in the police slayings of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner in New York.

According to our media partners at the Jackson Citizen Patriot, some were angry others preached forgiveness but all agreed that the only way to bring positive change in the relationship between citizens and police is to do so peacefully.
