Candlelight Vigil Scheduled For Ingham Co. Deputy

(WLNS) – A candlelight vigil for Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputy Grant Whitaker is set for Thursday night in Mason.

Whitaker lost his life early Sunday morning when his vehicle crashed into a tree during a pursuit.

The vigil will begin at 6 p.m. at the Ingham County Police Memorial in front of the Sheriff’s Office at 630 N. Cedar Street in Mason.

This vigil is open to all law enforcement and the public is invited to come and show support for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office and the family of Deputy Whitaker.

Governor Rick Snyder has also ordered flags at half staff on Friday for Deputy Whitaker’s funeral.
