FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – Authorities say the body of a missing 74-year-old man has been found in a rural Shiawassee County field.
Reportedly Thomas Nethaway had been missing since Monday and search crews found his body roughly 100 yards from a road in Fairfield Township.
Sheriff’s Lt. David Kirk says it’s “a sad ending” to the case. He says investigators believe that Nethaway may have driven off the road onto a two-track road and then got out of his vehicle. Searchers tracked a signal from Nethaway’s cellphone to the area.
Kirk says Nethaway had dementia and other health issues. Cause of death is under investigation. Foul play isn’t suspected.
