Stolen SUV Slams into House

LANSING MICH. (WLNS) – A Lansing man woke up to a surprise Sunday afternoon when a S-U-V drove into the front of this house.

Police say the incident happened at the 600 block of Gordon near Mt. Hope.

Christa Lamendola was at the scene and has more on one man’s rude awakening.

It wasn’t an alarm clock that woke up the person sleeping in this house

“I heard a bunch of cars racing around and tires squealing and I heard a big smash and I looked out.”

It was an S-U-V— crashing into the front porch.

“Luckily nothing inside the house was damaged, no broken windows are anything.”

Police say two teens were driving the stolen SUV when the owner of the car spotted it—and followed it.

The chase ended here when the driver lost control.

But the driver and the passenger didn’t stick around in fact they ran away after the crash.

Police are still searching for the two suspects

But the person inside the house– who did not want to be on camera says the majority of the damage was cosmetic—- and things could’ve been worse.

“I’m glad it didn’t hit my car or where I was sleeping right there cause I could’ve gotten hurt.”

The owner of the suv has his vehicle back.

Police say they have several leads on the suspects.
