Eaton Rapids 49 – Charlotte 21

Our 5th Quarter bus made a trip to Charlotte, and the Orioles were fired up for a rematch in the playoffs.

In the third, Charlotte had 14 and Eatno Rapids had seven. Jared McDaniel perfectly placed a pass into the hands of Blaine Milheim, who beat a defender and took it right on into the endzone. It tied the game at 14.

Three minutes later, McDaniel went to the air again. And this time, he found James Cruz, who cruised right on in for a touchdown. For the first time in the game, Eaton Rapids took the lead 21-14.

Third quarter was ugly for the Orioles, but sweet for the Greyhounds. Alex Stenberg sent one through the middle and Christopher Fillwock had a monster pick, and returned it for a Greyhound touchdown. With 48 seconds left in the third, Eaton Rapids took a commanding 35-14 lead.

Eaton Rapids went on to score two more touchdowns to make a 49-21 final. The Greyhounds picked up their first playoff win in school history.
