A Sterling Heights man is in serious condition after crashing his vehicle in Jackson County Tuesday night.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Officials, the 52-year-old man was traveling North on Strait Road when he failed to stop at the Hanover Road intersection.
He drove off the road and in to a utility pole and many small trees before being ejected from his vehicle.
Several power lines were hanging down near the victim making it difficult for rescue crews to initially reach him. The man was airlifted to the University of Michigan Hospital.
There were no other passengers in the car. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
