Lansing Eastern 3-year starting basketball point guard, Charles “Cha Cha” Tucker is transferring out of the Lansing school district and has enrolled at Montrose Academy in Maryland, a suberb of Washington, D.C.
Tucker, who averaged 12 points per game and 10 assists per game during his Eastern career, informed Coach Rod Watts of his decision last Wednesday, and is in fact, already in Maryland getting ready for his senior season. Tucker is 6-foot-1 inch and has hopes of playing college basketball at the Division One level and he feels this move will enhance his chances of doing that.
He does not have to sit out any time since he is transferring out of state and is eligible to play at Montrose when the season begins.
Another Lansing Eastern player, Tyson Thomas has transferred to Lansing Sexton and will have to sit out at least half of the season before he is eligible, under MHSAA rules.
