An early morning car accident has left two people dead and one critically injured.
According to Michigan State Police, the accident occurred around 12:10 on Wednesday morning in the area of E. Bacon and Tripp roads in Hillsdale County.
A single vehicle was traveling westbound on E. Bacon Road when it went off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 44-year-old Hillsdale resident, was airlifted to U of M Medical Center in Ann Arbor where he is being treated for critical injuries.
The two other passengers in the car, a 21-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both residents of Hillsdale, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Michigan State Police Officials say initial investigation indicates that alcohol and speed were likely factors in the accident.
