The Lansing Community College trustees approves a 67 million dollar project.
LCC's president says the money will be used to update classrooms and technolgy.
He says much of the college's infrastructure is about 30 years old.
The plan is projected to bring about 800 jobs to the area over 30 months.
The college says the project will bring about 500 million dollars in economic impact the area.
At Monday night's meeting about a dozen people argued against part of the plan that would close the pool and conver that area to a food court.
After deliberating in closed session, trustees decided they will re-vist that area of the plan and the pool will remain open, at least for now.
45 million dollar of the project will be funded by bonds while 10 million will come the state and 11 million will come from LCC's savings.
LCC is planning a press conference to formally announce the project at 11:00am on Tuesday.
