Police Look for Driver After Bad Crash

Jackson sheriff officials are trying to find a man they say was involved in a serious accident on Saturday.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 10:15 pm, on the 9000 block of Moscow Road in Hanover Township.

A GMC pickup was traveling southbound on Moscow Road and crossed the center line and into oncoming traffic.  The pickup struck a GMC van traveling northbound on Moscow Road.  The suspect believed to be the driver of the pickup, a 20 year old Hanover Township man, fled the scene prior to the Deputies arrival. 

A nine year old occupant of the GMC van, from Jackson, was airlifted to Bronson Hospital with head injuries.  The driver of the van, a 47 year old Jackson man, was pinned inside the vehicle and was extricated by the Hanover Township Fire Department.  The Driver and the front seat passenger, a 45 year old woman was taken by ambulance to Allegiance Health with serious injuries.  A two year old male in the van was also transported by ambulance to the hospital.  All occupants of the van were thought to be in serious condition at the time of the crash.

An extensive search for the suspect was conducted including Police K9's and a search of known residences.  The suspect has not been located.  The investigation is ongoing at this time.
