Severe Weather – May 3

Ahead of a cold front a very warm and unstable air mass set up across Mid Michigan. Temperatures climbed into the mid 80s and by 4pm storms began to form ahead of a cold front. As storms raced northeast at 30-40mph, reports of hail and wind damage began to come in. As you can see from the pictures, the clouds were low and dark. The winds at time gusted near 60mph causing quite a bit of damage. There were also reports in the area of rainfall totals over 3 inches!
