Kevin Gehl joined the 6 Sports team as Weekend Sports Anchor in November 2011. Kevin co-hosts the 5th Quarter on Friday nights at 11:15 pm and hosts all weekend sportscasts, including Sports Overtime on Sunday nights at 11:15 pm. He also reports sports stories from around Mid-Michigan during weekdays.
Previously, Kevin worked as an Anchor/Reporter for Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area (San Francisco, CA), the top-rated high school sports show in the United States. From 2009-2011, Kevin covered many of the country's best high school athletes in a wide variety of sports: from football and basketball, to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and NASCAR racing.
Kevin worked as an Anchor/Reporter at KOMU-TV (NBC) in Columbia, MO from 2007-2009. He covered the Missouri Tigers during runs to the Big 12 Football Championship and the NCAA Men's Basketball Elite 8. Kevin earned an SPJ Sports Reporting Award in 2008 for his sports feature, 'The Phantom Dutchman.' He also served as sports director at KCOU 88.1 FM (Columbia, MO), interned with 1050 ESPN Radio (New York City), and reported as a Missouri State Capitol contributor for NewsRadio 1120 KMOX (St. Louis, MO).
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri in May 2009. Born and raised in Pleasanton, CA, Kevin now proudly covers sports here in Mid-Michigan, where he meets many of the most passionate sports fans in America.
